100 Tons of Aid for Balkan Flood Relief Departing from Toronto Next Week

The humanitarian organization 28. Jun will send over 100 tons of aid to Serbia from Toronto next week for flood relief. The most urgent material will be transported by airplane with less urgent supplies going by ship. It is just over half of the humanitarian supplies 28. Jun collected with the other 100 tons being stored in Chicago and scheduled to depart in the following weeks. The total value of the aid which includes donations from Gatorade, Target, Walmart, Huggies, Shoppers Drug Mart, Rexall and Loblaws has been independently appraised at around $1.5 mil.

The goods will be received by the Serbian Red Cross and the Serbian Ministry of Health, both of whom 28. Jun has worked with in the past. 28. Jun members in Serbia will assist with the distribution of the aid to ensure help is delivered to those who need it most. More funds are needed to help pay for the transportation of the aid remaining in Chicago, so please donate generously on www.28jun.org or via PayPal 28jun.org@gmail.com

A press conference about the shipment of the supplies from Toronto will be held on Tuesday, June 24th at 2:00 PM EST at:
